Is Alien Real?
Written on February 2, 2018
In my opinion, the lack of evidence doesn’t make us hard to believe extraterrestrial life because the probability is too high to be disbelieved. Also, being stubborn to consider we are alone in the entire universe means that we doubt about the vastness of the universe. Well, an Earth-like planet could be rare. But, it is improbable if there is not any civilization or at least “things” outside the earth because there are billions of galaxies.
The
observable universe is about ninety billion light-years in diameter and at least
one hundred billion galaxies. There are probably
trillions of habitable planets in the universe. It means there should be lots
of chances for life to develop and exist. From a tiny microorganism to enormous
aliens that are dangerous could live outside the earth. But, where are they?
This powerful argument became known as Fermi Paradox.

There’s
a hypothesis asserts that alien civilizations certainly exist, but they’re
simply inactive, that’s called “aestivation hypothesis”. The theory states that
aliens are “hibernating” until the environment conditions are good to develop
their super society.
In
2015, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft became the first to do a close flyby of
Pluto and shows the icy surface of it. Then, they came out with the theory of
where life might be lurking. Aliens could have been trapped in the deep oceans.
We couldn’t reach out aliens because they live in the place where we cannot
send a message to them.
More
than that, I would like to tell 5 reasons why we haven’t met aliens.
1.
Space is big
Our galaxy – The Milky Way –
alone is 100,000 light-years across. It is possible that they exist and living
there but we can’t communicate with them because the distance is too far away.
2.
Aliens ignore us
There’s a potential that they
have known our existence but they avoid us because they think we are some
dangerous creatures that could harm them.
3.
Aliens are not
intelligent
There could be a lot of aliens
but they are limited in knowledge so they don’t want to know and don’t know how
to contact us.
4.
Aliens are smarter
Instead of limited in
knowledge, probably aliens have more advanced communication technology that
humans don’t understand.
5.
Intelligent life
self-destructs
They might have existed but
only for a short time and kill themselves before showing us their existence.
We
are not looking for aliens quite a long time. We’ve only been actively reaching
out for alien life for about a century. We are just being impatient of finding
extraterrestrial life. An astrophysicist and mathematician, Evan Solomonides
suggests that it could take a while maybe 1,500 years from now before we hear
anything outside there.
In
the end, seeing alien is taking a lot of times than we think. There is no way we’ll find the aliens
quickly. Maybe we have to explore around half of the Milky Way galaxy to find
life or anything in the space. I do believe that aliens exist. “We haven’t met
aliens” doesn’t mean “There aren’t any aliens”.
